A homeless man has been remanded in custody as he waits to find out his punishment after assaulting a woman.

Sean Paul Marsh, 32, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to assaulting Claire Murphy by beating her on Saturday, July 18.

Wigan magistrates decided to remand him in custody while a report is prepared for sentencing at the same court on Monday August 10.
